openHPI Course Program 2021
Already next week, on January 13, we will start the new year with a series of three short courses on cybersecurity. The two-week English-language courses Confidential Communication in the Internet, Digital Identities and Cyberthreats: Malware will be taught by Prof. Christoph Meinel. They show what risks the Internet poses and what security precautions you should take against them. If you wish, you can take the Cybersecurity exam on the material from all three courses and receive a qualified certificate, which is otherwise only issued for six-week courses.
Starting March 17, Prof. Meinel and book author Tatiana Gayvoronskaya will reveal what's behind blockchain technology and what it's currently being used for.

Under the title Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Practice, HPI master students Johannes Hötter and Christian Warmuth will show participants how to apply their acquired AI knowledge in practice, for example, in analyzing the content statements of newspaper articles.

In November, programming enthusiasts will get their money's worth. The 2-week German-language course Algorithms and Data Structures with Detective Duke starts on Nov. 24. In it, the openHPI course team led by Christiane Hagedorn, Sebastian Serth and Dr. Thomas Staubitz will delve into some of the content from the Object-Oriented Programming in Java course and, in particular, discuss iterators and the advantages of certain data structures depending on the use case.

EMOOCs & L@S Conference 2021
This year, the Hasso Plattner Institute will host the largest European MOOC conference, EMOOCs 2021 (European MOOC Stakeholder Summit), which will take place in parallel with the Learning at Scale conference from June 22-25, 2021. Depending on how things develop, we will hold the conference as a face-to-face event in Potsdam. Online participation in the conference will be possible in any case.

In April, the Co-Innovation MasterClass will start on our partner platform mooc.house, to which we cordially invite you. The program is aimed equally at students, representatives of startups and of large companies. The prerequisite for participation in the online course, for which students can receive 6 ECTS credits, is proof of participation in the course "Co-Innovation Journey for Startups and Corporates". Missed the course last year? No problem. It is still available for self-study.
Please note: Participation in the Microcredential is limited. All information about the structure, content and the link to the registration form can be found here: https://mooc.house/courses/corship2021-mc.
We would be pleased if you would take advantage of our openHPI offers again this year and also draw your friends and colleague’s attention to the constantly growing range of offers.
Best regards
