Mit einem weiteren zweiwöchigen Onlinekurs (unser Blockchain-Kurs aus dem Jahr 2018) zur viel diskutierten Blockchain-Technologie wollen wir einen tieferen und gleichzeitig kompakten Einblick in die grundlegenden Konzepte und die Herausforderungen komplexer verteilter Systeme geben. Im Unterschied zu den weit verbreiteten zentralisierten Systemen mit einer Vertrauensinstanz im Mittelpunkt, geht es bei Blockchain-Technologien darum, verlässlichen und sicheren Datenaustausch auch ohne eine solche zentrale Instanz zu gewährleisten.

Darauf, wie in einem solchen verteilten System ohne zentrale Instanz Vertrauen und Konsens zwischen den einzelnen Akteuren geschaffen werden kann, geht der kostenlose openHPI-Kompaktkurs im Detail ein. Er richtet sich an Anfänger, die sich für das Thema Blockchain interessieren und gerne intensiver in die Materie einsteigen wollen.

Mit diesem Wissen ausgestattet, werden Sie ein tieferes Verständnis der Blockchain-Technologie bekommen und entscheidende Unterschiede zu bestehenden Ansätzen verstehen.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel

Christoph Meinel (Univ.-Prof., Dr.rer.nat., Dr.sc.nat., 1954) was Managing and Scientific Director of the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering gGmbH (HPI) until March 2023. He is a full professor (C4) for Informatics at the university of Potsdam and has the chair for "Internet Technology and Systems" at the HPI. From 2017 to 2021 he was the founding dean of the Digital Engineering Faculty of the University of Potsdam.
His research interests are broadly diversified in the area of innovative Internet applications and systems, especially in digital education, e-learning & tele-teaching, artifical intelligence and deep learing, and Internet and information security. He is also active in the field of innovation research and investigates the Stanford innovation method design thinking. Former research interest were in telemedicine, as well as in the theoretical foundations of computer science in the areas of complexity theory and efficient OBDD-based algorithms and data structures.
