How can we face the challenges posed by the climate crisis? Furthermore, how can we not only prevent the worst scenarios but instead create a sustainable future for all life on earth? These questions stand at the heart of the "Planet Positive 2030" initiative, an open and global program created by the IEEE Standards Association. In his live talk, John C. Havens from IEEE explains the challenges and goals of the initiative.
John C. Havens is Executive Director of the Council on Extended Intelligence and The IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. He is the Founding chair of multiple, far-reaching IEEE standards, working groups, and committees.
Previously, John was an EVP of Social Media at PR Firm, Porter Novelli, and a professional actor for over 15 years. John has written for Mashable and The Guardian and is the author of the books, Heartificial Intelligence: Embracing Our Humanity To Maximize Machines and Hacking Happiness: Why Your Personal Data Counts and How Tracking it Can Change the World.
