Jan Peter Schemmel has been Chairman of the Öko-Institut e.V. since October 2019. Previously, he worked as Head of Unit for Funding Programs at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit gGmbH (GIZ). During this time, from 2015-2019, he was also Head of the Program Office of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment.

From 2010-2013, Mr. Schemmel was the Resident Director of GIZ in Mexico, responsible for the implementation and further development of the German bilateral technical cooperation portfolio. Before moving to Mexico, Mr. Schemmel was responsible for the development and implementation of GIZ's climate strategy starting in 2007. During this time, he also led a project to develop an online information platform on climate change adaptation together with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and coordinated a research team of the New Responsibility Foundation on technology foreign policy.

Dr. André Bauer has been a research group leader and research assistant at the Chair of Software Engineering (Computer Science II) at the Julius-Maximilians-University in Würzburg since 2021. He completed his computer science studies and his doctorate at the University of Würzburg. Bauer completed his doctoral thesis on "Automated Hybrid Time Series Forecasting: Design, Benchmarking, and Use Cases" summa cum laude. In addition to a straightforward scientific career, Bauer has numerous publications to his credit.

Tobias Gerbothe holds a degree in transportation engineering and started his career in the field of aviation as a research assistant. After an initial scientific career focusing on simulation software for aviation, he decided to follow his passion for IT and fully dedicate himself to a career in the ICT environment. Since 2015, he has been working as a software developer at Otto Group Solution Provider (OSP) with a focus on eCommerce and webshop development. He is committed to establishing sustainability as an integral part of all corporate activities. He is currently working on building a platform that will provide knowledge and technological tools to help colleagues incorporate sustainability as a significant aspect of decision making.

Fridtjof Chwoyka works as specialist at Data Center Excellence. Based on his experience as a project engineer and project manager exclusively in data center projects, he offers a fully comprehensive consulting service for data centers. From the conception over the execution of internal audits regarding the defined requirements to the creation of site risk analyses, site assessments and further documentation such as requirement specifications and manuals, he covers the complete service range of data center consulting. This is rounded off by his experience as an author of EN 50600 as well as the implementation of several research projects in the field of data centers.
