- 00:00When we prepared our openHPI course on 50 years of the Internet, we on the teaching team had a crazy idea, the idea of asking you.
- 00:10To ask you, what does the internet look like after a hundred years of existence?
- 00:16So what does Internet 2069 look like? It started in 1969, with four computers, this is what they looked like back then.
- 00:25Today, global network of networks with huge computing resources, with all the technologies that we will then get to know in the course.
- 00:37But then what happens in the next 50 years?
- 00:41What will the Internet look like on its hundredth birthday?
- 00:45So this is a question, where we invite you to contribute your ideas and visions and also get into conversation with each other about it.
- 00:55Will our society, what will the privacy what does it look like in leisure time, will family celebrations only be available on the net in the future?
- 01:06Do we accept our work, AI, as the boss?
- 01:11Can we use skills, abilities, educational content simply by download?
- 01:17Can we have head clouds, so that we put our heads together, to be creative in a much larger way.
- 01:27How does this look like in everyday life? If implants are used, chips will expand our sensory perception, far beyond the range we have today,
- 01:37where we can of course already compensate for things with glasses and hearing aids.
- 01:43But can we have completely different experiences into our daily lives?
- 01:48What about the technology? Are we going to stop pushing buttons, but will we control it by thought?
- 01:57In mobility, the dream of beaming, that you can send digital content around the world as fast as you can that we also send ourselves physically around the world in some way.
- 02:10A little more mundane, we'll be traveling in air taxis, we can elect an AI Chancellor in Germany.
- 02:20So that's a lot of questions, ideas, we're very curious to see what you come up with.
- 02:26This is what we're doing here in our discussion forum for the openHPI course give a forum for discussions.
- 02:35Please be there and share with us and all other learners in the course Your ideas, your visions, your opinions,
- 02:44what happens in the next 50 years on the Internet, with the Internet, with our society?
- 02:50Their comments, their warnings, her prophecies are worth a great deal to us.
- 02:56How do you assess such developments, Reminders are welcome, forecasts.
- 03:02And of course, we have a rich variety of learners, there will be optimistic statements, there will be realistic statements, there are also pessimistic ones.
- 03:12We need everything to develop a common picture of the future, what will the Internet look like in 50 years,
- 03:21what will become of our society in the next 50 years,
