Christian Willems Awarded “Learning Developer of The Year”

Christian’s pioneering work has been decisive in shaping the MOOC platforms openHPI and openSAP. With enthusiasm and an abundance of good ideas, he leads a team of developers, PhD candidates, and students at the chair of Internet Technologies and Systems.


News on openHPI: Course Start and new Platform Features

Today, we would like to present you our new mainframes course (in English) and introduce two new platform features which will hopefully make learning with our platform even more exciting.


Learning Ruby on openHPI

The programming language Ruby was introduced in 1995 with the aim of combining the best of both worlds: the world of functional programming and that of imperative programming. The programming environment Ruby on Rails enjoys great popularity, and it is used to develop fast, new Internet applications. On October 1, we start our new openHPI course [Programming with Ruby]1. We look forward to seeing you there!

The result: The majority of our 175,000 participants come from about 60 large cities all over Germany. But also in 15 German cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants, we noticed an important concentration of active online learners who use our courses on current issues in IT and innovation.
