This unit presents another approach to data partitioning: based on the state of the related business objects, database entries can be flagged as actual or historical. While this approach is not generally applicable for all domains ( scientific data for example has no clear distinction attribute in contrast to enterprise data), a cooperative approach of the ERP system and the database allows for an efficient distinction.
