WEEK 2 - Prototyping

Module Overview

Welcome to the prototyping module!

In this module, we will focus on building prototypes and phrasing testing assumptions.

The main objective of this module is to build simple prototypes for user testing.

We will talk about different prototyping methods for different ideas. We will explain which methods to use and how to plan your prototyping in order to extract valuable user feedback.

This module includes two exercises and an assignment. The assignment for the course is open from this week onward. We recommend to start working on the assignment early on instead of pushing it towards the end of the course.

You will approximately need to commit 3 – 4 hours for this module.

We share short talks by three experts in this module: Yi-Cong Lu, an experienced designer, will talk about the power of "Cardboard Prototyping", computer engineer Lisa Ihde introduces "Prototyping with Microcontrollers", and Professor Dr. Patrick Baudisch explains "Lasercutting for Prototyping".
