- 00:00Yeah, well, now that we and Blockchain technology we'd like to look at it now,
- 00:06in what areas can it be used? what kind of projects are there?
- 00:10So you see, and that is of course also very much connected with this hype, there's almost no area where blockchain can't be used.
- 00:19Applications are being considered in medicine, of blockchain technology.
- 00:23Identity management, i.e. when proving the identity in the network it is quite obvious to use blockchain technology.
- 00:33In cloud computing, but also in the Internet of Things, so the future that the various devices, the various objects,
- 00:41whether it's at home, whether it's in town, whether it's in the factory, who can communicate with each other via the Internet
- 00:50and thus be able to influence each other, there you can find a whole range of very interesting applications of blockchain technology.
- 00:57We had already mentioned logistics,
- 00:59that in such a chain, where there are different suppliers work together, you can do that very well. the use of blockchain technology can be imagined.
- 01:10And then, of course, finance. It's down here, but in context, of course. from the Bitcoins, from crypto currencies.
- 01:17it was an easy step, of course. that concerns the monetary system, that concerns the financial system.
- 01:23Bookings, rentals, I think we've had, even already an example in the courses.
- 01:27Energy supply, retail trade.
- 01:28so there are many areas where you can imagine, the Blockchain technology.
- 01:35And in social networks. also the blockchain technology,
- 01:41there is even a project called TIMINT, where blockchain technology is used.
- 01:46For example, the users of this platform, this social network. can post certain content
- 01:55and also from the network, from other nodes they can also be rewarded with the crypto currency.
- 02:04Blockchain technology is also used in journalism, for freedom of expression, for example the "Publicism" project also uses blockchain technology.
- 02:17The journalists then have the opportunity, to express your opinion anonymously and securely and getting paid for it.
- 02:28The journalists are then paid in micropayments, these are then collected by crowdfunding for example and then given to journalists for their content.
- 02:41Also the company Clear Karma uses the blockchain technology-
- 02:46The concept is very, very interesting, you use it for the traceability of ingredients in the food industry,
- 02:58you can then understand where the product comes from, where the ingredients come from and in which products they can be found.
- 03:06And they also rely on blockchain technology, all the changes, logging, will then take place on the blockchain technology.
- 03:16It's not a unit, there's a unit here. to network a large number of actors,
- 03:20that provide the individual ingredients that process the ingredients, who then process them, who then deliver them.
- 03:25And there we have again such a network from a lot of players where it's not clear at first,
- 03:30if there's someone who's now in charge and can pronounce the trust for all,
- 03:37but they act on their own, and overall, we want to be safe, that it works and is replaced.
- 03:44Here's another example.
- 03:44And an app is proposed, for example, that users can see even then, where the product comes from, what ingredients are there,
- 03:53what allergens, everything's traceable, everything can be traced.
- 03:57I hope it still tastes good.
- 03:58So if we'll see, these were very different areas, where this technology can be used,
- 04:05then of course that is immediately a hot topic for start-ups.
- 04:08For start-ups, and you see a few of these names, who have also made a name for themselves,
- 04:14it attracted a lot of venture capital to say, here we try, for example In Financial Accounting or Logistics
- 04:21to make completely new approaches with blockchains.
- 04:24On the other hand, of course, the big companies also have, the corporations heard of this technology and in their development departments, of course,
- 04:33you can do that in our context, for our products, for our interactions with other partner companies.
- 04:42And then, of course, it turned out very quickly, Man, it makes sense to work together on this.
- 04:49Cooperation between large companies and the very flexible start-ups, which can be organized in various ways.
- 04:55A typical organizational form to be found in the blockchain area are consortia, where large companies are working very specifically with specific no company there to develop a joint solution.
- 05:11But of course there are also bilateral cooperations, that a large company like this is placing an order with a start-up,
- 05:19to develop something based on blockchain technology. Or start-ups via large companies can sell their products.
- 05:30So when you look at it this way. and the focal points in the individual projects,
- 05:35then you see that the Blockchain technology is also used very differently.
- 05:40So there are in these many different applications The focus is on logging activities.
- 05:47This is actually what was originally the case with Bitcoin, that it's a matter of keeping exact records, when which action was executed.
- 05:57Then there are many projects, who use it in a deeper way, to maintain a distributed database,
- 06:06where you're safe, where everyone's safe, although parts of this database are located with different operators,
- 06:18that it's still reliably clear that none of these operators this database or database in any way.
- 06:27And one step further, that's that, which we've already seen in the Smart Contracts, that they use so-called State Machine based approaches,
- 06:38i.e. finite automata, if /then-relationships are defined, driven by such blockchain technology.
- 06:45So when a certain starting situation is reached, that then automatically just like in such a finite machine automatically suspend certain follow-up activities.
- 06:57So very different, very broad spectrum, and that, of course, has led to the fact that the distribution is very large, that the areas of application are very interesting
- 07:07and it has these many great hopes into blockchain technology.
- 07:12And blockchain technology solutions are then also based on to the properties offered by blockchain technology.
- 07:24One pays attention, for example, to the user conditions, to the permissions that users have, you choose between Public or Private Blockchain.
- 07:34The blockchain solutions can be a product, be a service or a platform,
- 07:40and as we've already said, individual start-ups are formed in this area,
- 07:46and offer blockchain solutions, or cooperation between large and small companies.
- 07:52And that's quite interesting, even the start-ups in this area.
- 07:56Yes, quite interesting. Maybe they expect you first, that you have most of the start-ups in the U.S., in America, but then England came in second.
- 08:10Germany doesn't have that many start-ups in the blockchain sector yet, when you look at the whole world,
- 08:17but still, it's getting, more and more blockchain start-ups, who, for example, are based in Berlin.
- 08:25UK, naturally driven by the financial industry, where the subject first came up.
- 08:30You'll see, maybe you can't read it in detail, with two and three percent respectively Singapore, Japan, South Korea,
- 08:38and the rest of the world, that's the remaining six percent.
- 08:43So there's still air up in Germany.
- 08:47And when you see that on the map so beautifully visually,
- 08:51we're also talking about blockchain technology, Blockchain solutions at the national level.
- 08:58So not only small start-ups or companies are interested in blockchain technology.
- 09:03If you talk so much about Blockchain, then politics has also decided, then we also do something with Blockchain, then this is also important for us.
- 09:10For example, Australia has big plans. for the support of crypto currency and blockchain industry,
- 09:18but also other countries, for example in Europe, Estonia calls itself E-Estonia and is occupied with
- 09:25with the topic Blockchain already since the year 2008, when Bitcoin came into being.
- 09:30It must be said, however, that Estonia tends to focus on logging. So this is the topic for Estonia, where the blockchain technology is deployed.
- 09:41In Germany a Blockchain-Bundesverband was founded in 2017, and Germany also sets itself a target,
- 09:50a global player to be in the global blockchain ecosystem.
- 09:55Sweden also plans to create a land register with blockchain technology.
- 10:03And the Netherlands even has a city, called Blockchain City or Bitcoin City,
- 10:11where you can also find them in shops or cafés. I can pay with Bitcoins.
- 10:14And that's just the effect, what Blockchain technology does with all the systems, with all the technologies,
- 10:27Make more watch Blockchain and it is also used on an international level.
