Welcome to “Week 2 – Collaborative Space” of our online learning course “From Brockhaus Thinking: With Design Thinking to a Networked Culture”.
During this week we want to start introducing and exploring one of the 3 key important dimensions that we use to define Design Thinking from a conceptual standpoint as a reflective practitioner: place * people * process.
On purpose, we have decided not to start with the process first – as mostly all introductory courses to Design Thinking are doing –, but to draw your attention to the most overlooked and most often underestimated dimension of Design Thinking: Collaborative Space.
The main topics of this module are:
- to introduce the concept of collaborative space as a juxtaposition between focused individual work and creative team work
- to discuss with you the strategic intent of designing collaborative spaces
- how to develop an understanding of emergent strategy that might start with small space hacks
- how to create Design Thinking-spaces
During this week we also want to actively engage with you. We will provide you with a short exercise. And we want to invite you to share your findings in the respective discussion forum with all of us.
We hope that you will enjoy this week with us and the community!
