Dear Learning Community,
In the upcoming week, we will build upon the biological concepts we have touched in the last week. We will learn how to convert the analogues DNA into digital format. This is the foundation for a common understanding of how genome data processing and its analysis work today.
Therefore, here is a brief overview, what you can expect from us this week:
- Transformation of DNA/RNA from an analog to digital form
- How to reconstruct the whole Genome from DNA reads?
- How to detect changes in the genetic code?
- Interpret genetic changes and their impact
- Perform data processing and analysis whilst guaranteeing reproducibility
- Become a doctor and bring all puzzle pieces together by test-drive selected tools on your own
The homework for week 2 will be available on Thursday, November 24th, 09:00 CET. From then on you will have 1 week time to submit the assignment (multiple choice test).
The final exam will be available on Monday November 28th, 09:00 CET. You will likewise have one week time to submit it.
Important dates:
- Thursday, November 24th, 09:00 CET: publication of the homework of week 2
- Thursday, December 1st, 22:00 CET: due date for the homework assignment of week 2
- Monday, November 28th, 09:00 CET: publication of the final test
- Monday, December 5nd, 22:00 CET: due date of the final test
