In the final exam, we want you to use tools for genome analysis to identify changes in the genetic code which may lead to a number of diseases. The test is divided in three parts:

1) In the first part, you will be required to find the location of a specific mutation using the Genome Browser. We will provide you with the details for it (5pts).

2) After finding the relevant position in the Genome Browser, you will answer 5 questions regarding the information displayed on it and related annotation sources (10pts).

3) Finally, you will utilize the Medical Knowledge Cockpit to tap into medical knowledge regarding genes, mutations and diseases. Similarly, you will answer 5 questions (10pts).

For information on how to access the tools aforementioned, refer to the accompanying video and instructions sheet.

Please make sure that you have an undisturbed environment for the next 60 minutes. You have 60 minutes time for each of the parts. We think that you can make it faster, but please be aware that you only have one try. Once you have started the assignment, the timer can't be stopped.

Please do not discuss contents of the assignment in the forum before the final deadline. If you encounter any problems, please report them to the helpdesk.

Rules:

• You can take the exam only once, and you have 60 minutes time. As time is over, your selections will automatically be submitted. Logging out or shutting down your computer will not stop the timer.
