Overview of the week

Welcome back!

In this week, we will talk about observation, a simple but powerful tool to find design inspirations. enter image description here

The main objective of this week is to introduce you to the possibilities of careful observation.

In this module, we will point out workarounds and misuses as great sources of inspiration for creating human-centered solutions. We will present real-life examples and explain how paying attention to detail has led to new discoveries and innovative solutions.

This module includes an exercise and an assignment for you, in which you can apply your observation skills. You will approximately need to commit 1h – 1:40 hours for this.

Important dates for this week are:

  • Thursday, September 7, 23:00 (UTC) submission deadline
  • Friday, September 8, 8:00 (UTC) start of peer evaluation
  • Thursday, September 14, 23:00 (UTC) end of peer evaluation

We will have an expert talk from Claudia Nicolai, academic director and co-head of the HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam. Her topic: "Immerse Yourself".
